Özlem Sevil
Founder
She began her musical education at the İzmir Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory under the guidance of Prof. Çetin Aydar. During her studies, she continued her artistic development through masterclasses with Ruşen Güneş, Principal Viola of the London Philharmonic and BBC Philharmonic Orchestras. In 2000, she was awarded third prize at the National Viola Competition.
Throughout her career, she has performed in numerous recitals, chamber music concerts, and solo performances. After completing an accelerated program, she graduated in 2002 and began her professional career the same year as a permanent member of the Dokuz Eylül Symphony Orchestra. She completed her Master’s degree in 2006.
In 2008, she joined the İzmir State Symphony Orchestra, and in 2021, she became the only violist within the Turkish Ministry of Culture to hold the title of Principal Viola. In 2024, she was appointed to the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra with the same title.
Over the past three years, she has toured with the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra across Albania, Georgia, Romania, Japan, and Germany, sharing the stage with world-renowned soloists at major venues both in Turkey and abroad.
As the founder and artistic director of Musicandle Concerts, she continues to perform actively and contribute to the artistic vision of the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra.
